Introduction
Principle Supplementary Schools (PSS) along with our charity partner the Newham Youth Link and other corporate partners have undertaken a project to raise £20,000 to construct a much needed college building for further education in Kamalpur, Biswanath- a sub-district of Sylhet in Bangladesh. Currently, with a population of around 200,000 Biswanath has only 2 colleges which are out of reach for many particularly girls. Clearly, this is disproportionate and the shortage of further education providers mean many young people do not get to further their education beyond SSC (GCSE equivalent). The problem is particularly acute for girls due to cultural barriers that prevents them from travelling or living out for studies.
This project seeks to help address this problem and together with the help and support of our partners we hope to establish a route for top quality further education to help generations into a brighter future.
Financials
The project consists of 3 phases for which the 1st phase consists of raising the required funds to construct the college building. Please download the zip file at the bottom of the page to get full details of the plan and the financials.
Our target for the 1st phase is to raise £20,000.
